Asheville - Grace Jane Roberts Travis, age 73, peacefully fell asleep in death on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Memorial Mission Hospital.
Born in Durham, NC, Jane went to UNC Chapel Hill where she met and married Carl Travis in 1967. They began their life and moved to Colorado and Alaska, settling back in North Carolina, where she taught art at the Murphy North Carolina High School until retirement. Jane moved back to Asheville where she then served in a volunteer bible education work and spent her time enjoying her family and the beach.
Surviving are her husband, Carl; her son, Kyle; her daughter, Kimberly; three granddaughters, Chanelle, Chloe, Shayla; three sisters, Mary Jo, Ellen, Judy; one brother, Charlie; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 70 Cedar Hill Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
